If you’re reading this, there’s a solid chance you’re under quarantine, self-isolating, or at very least social distancing (and if you’re not, what the f*ck is wrong with you?  Are you trying to kill us?).

COVID-19 is here.  There’s no denying it.  It’s closed our cafes, our bars and our borders.  We’re being asked to work from home (if we still have jobs that is).  There’s a solid chance that “flattening the curve” will be the 2020 “word” of the year.

So, where do we turn when everyone is desperately scrambling for something to believe in?  The fact that over the last few years, more and more people have been turning to the stars for guidance and to the earth for healing, shows that we’re trying to connect with the world in a way that has maybe been lacking in the lead up to the global situation we all now find ourselves facing.

Perhaps cutting down on the distractions, switching off the omnipresent iPhone and tuning into the elements around us will help us to spiritually evolve and grow into the best versions of ourselves.

And honestly, anything that can help us feel a little more grounded or tethered to…. Well, anything right now, can only be a good a thing.


How to Keep Calm and Quarantine with Crystals

The energy of your home can shift over time.  If you’ve ever been in a space that was totally spick and span, and flooded with life giving natural light, but somehow just felt heavy, or uncomfortable, then you can understand how a home’s energy is dictated by more than just cleanliness.

The vibe of a space has a lot to do with the energy that has been expelled there, and not cleared away.  And if you’re claiming the last few weeks hasn’t expelled a whole lot of bad juju into your space, you’re either one 100% Zen yogi master, or lying.

Now is the perfect time to re-align the energy inside your home, instead of thinking of enforced isolation as a prison, turn it into an opportunity to make your space the only place you want to be.

Smudging your home, office, or yes, even your body is kind of like taking an energy shower, or even spending a day hiking in the fresh air of the mountains, no distractions, no Wi-Fi signal, breathing in the scent of dead leaves and pine trees - cleansing and refreshing for the soul.

And in a time when hiking in the fresh mountain air is an even more distant dream than usual, smudging your space can help maintain the sanctuary we all crave. 

 And don’t even worry about the possibility of “over smudging” - it’s a bit like really good French Fries, basically impossible to overdo.  If you want to smudge daily rn, more power to you (and we won’t judge if you’re smashing fries on the daily either).

During uncertain times like these, you’re bound to have a million questions running around your head, clamouring for attention like five years olds with no school to go to, who’ve recently discovered the pots and pans drawer.

  1. Meditate


We’re all in a bewilderingly unfamiliar place at the moment.  And yes, being at home at 11am on a Tuesday *can* be the good kind of unfamiliar, but right now we’re kind of stuck.  Missing co-workers, being stood down, economic uncertainty, the inability to touch our own faces and lack of TP – definitely the bad kind of uncertain.  On top of all this, we’re picking up on everyone else’s anxiety too.

And sure, you can (and, we'd argue, should) reduce stress by bingeing Netflix or looking at cute animals on YouTube, but these are short-term fixes.  So, if you’re not already, now is the perfect time to start a daily meditation habit.  Rough times are when we get the most benefit from something that is literally clinically proven to reduce anxiety and lower blood pressure, and to actually enhance the good parts of our brains over the long haul.

So, grab your favourite crystal, hold it close and just breathe baby, breathe.

-Host a virtual PAR-TAY!  Just because you can’t go out, it doesn’t mean you can’t see your friends – virtually, that is! Facebook Messenger, Houseparty, Zoom, Skype: there are so many apps that allow you to call your friends AND see their face. You could even host a trivia night for all your friends one evening – glass of wine compulsory! It's important we all stay connected during this time!


-Get connected with Mother Nature by standing barefoot in the dirt, grass or sand (whatever is safely attainable during this time) and allow her grounding energy to rebalance your chakras


-Work on harnessing your intuition (we have a blog on intuition!)


-Binge some Netflix, if you're bored and are keen for a wild ride 10/10 recommend Tiger King - get ready to say WHAT THE ACTUAL F*&K every 10 minutes - literally could not make this shiz up (NOTE - we are not liable for any lost brain cells)


-Grab your favourite tarot deck and jump head first into your subconscious. Learn to trust your given intuitive abilities and develop them by doing daily readings for yourself and even your family/friends (as long as y'all live in the same place of course)


-Spring clean the f&%k out of your house (or don't 🤷‍♀️ we always thought it was lack of time stopping us...turns out it's not)


-Take your self care to the next level! You've always wanted more time for a skincare routine - NOW IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE! Have your serum & facial roller ready, by the time you get out of ISO you'll be glowy AF
