Crystals for ADHD

Crystals for ADHD | What works for me

Look, if you haven’t heard of ADHD, you’ve probably been living under a rock (or, at least, you’re not on TikTok, which is basically the same thing, amiright?). Everyone and their influencer bestie is self-diagnosing with it and posting all sorts of questionable life hacks. But there’s an *awful* lot of misinformation out there rn.

REMEMBER - I am not a doctor and in some cases, self-diagnosis can be damaging, and it’s best to seek a professional’s opinion if you believe you suffer from any mental illness.

Attention deficit disorder (ADHD) is a neurological condition characterised in adults by four primary symptoms: inattention, impulsiveness, emotional dysregulation and low frustration tolerance. You’ve probably got a picture in your mind… someone who’s flighty, fidgety, and easily distracted, yes? But the signs of ADHD, particularly in adults, are not always so stereotypical; they can even differ dramatically from men to women (and person to person, for that matter).

You might also be thinking, “sure, we all have days like that”, and you’re right! But, the difference between daily life/brain fog and ADHD is the frequency of these symptoms. People with ADHD suffer these symptoms daily, and they seriously hinder our lives, work and relationships.

As someone with ADHD, I can vouch for the fact that our brains are literally wired differently (you’ve probably heard the term “neurodivergent” by now) from the general populace, so it only makes sense that the requirements for peak brain performance are different too.

So, if you came here looking for a conclusive diagnosis, sorry – I am absolutely not a medical professional; I can’t really help there. But, if you’re looking for advice from someone who’s been there, done that… buckle up because I’m here to share my hard-earned wisdom.

ADHD SYMPTOMS

There are 3 types of ADHD:

Type A - Inattentive
Type B – Hyperactive
And then there is me….
Combination - a mixture of both that can chop and change on the daily (super fun!)

All types of ADHD are chemically treated in the same manner, using stimulants. Whether you choose to treat it with medication or not, the basic tools remain the same. We must stimulate our brain to get it to release the almighty dopamine. This is why we naturally gravitate towards caffeine, sugar, carbs AND high vibe crystals that help to settle our minds and keep us from flitting from one thing to another.

My favourite crystals for managing my ADHD

The obvious option – Fluorite.

To help keep focused when trying to complete a task you don’t want to do, and you’ve left to the last minute (again!), most people would reach for Fluorite. This colourful stone helps focus, increases clarity and clears away the fog. But for my ADHD friends, supercharging is required! Add a Quartz generator or a Herkimer Diamond to really get that Fluorite energy bouncing around the room.

I mentioned high vibe crystals, so here are some of my personal, super zingy faves…

Super 7 holds the combined power of Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Smokey Quartz, Cacoxenite, Rutile, Goethite and Lepidocrocite and is said to have the highest vibration of any crystal found to date. It is a spiritual powerhouse with exceptional effectiveness.

Auralite 23 holds the combined power of 23 minerals and is a serious force to be reckoned with. A great healing stone to assist with managing rejection sensitivity and social anxiety. Perfect for that extra boost to get through the day.

Moldavite generally comes with some warning labels and some crazy ass stories (don’t believe everything you watch on TikTok). However, for the neurodivergent mind, it works a different way. For me, it’s like a warm wave of calm and grounding with a great ZING of pure energy to get those brain juices pumping. Moldavite is also helpful for counteracting cynicism and connects even the most world-weary with the universe’s wonders. It eases away doubts, even when the cause is unknown, and can calm worries about money by providing solutions not previously considered. As Moldavite is rare it can be quite pricey, other Tektites will also work in a similar way

Herkimer Diamonds are called “attunement stones” and are useful in attuning you with others, your surroundings, or new energies. Connecting with what is going on around us can be quite difficult at times and the rest of the time, we just don’t want to. The Herkimer Diamond is also a stone of release and relaxation. It helps to clear the mind/body of unconscious fears and repressions, allowing for complete and total relaxation and expansion of life energy.

SIDE NOTE - to help support our tiny humans that are on the spectrum you must have this Tiny Human Antidote Pouch

Easy peasy, right?

BUT – hot tip from someone in the know – as my ADHD peeps can also be prone to pretty bad anxiety (brought on mainly by the social pressures to appear “normal”), these high vibe babes work a hell of a lot better when paired with a soothing, grounding friend.

So, consider using a specialty Essential Oil blend like our Arise Roller; Shaz made it for me and I loved it so much I just had to share it with the world!

For extra crystal support, try popping some Hematite, Lepidolite or Tourmaline in your pocket. They are great wingmen for your high vibers.

After all, it’s all about balance right?

Thanks Pete for sharing your knowledge and experience, it has helped. I was diagnosed by a team of Specialists with ADHD at the age of 16 yrs old I am now 42. I started my crystal journey about 6 months ago. I’ve naturally been drawn to high vibe crystals from the start for the simple fact that they make me feel more calm, less anxiety, less overwhelmed and even a little more focus on things for longer…I didn’t think it would work like that.
Every day I wear Moldavite, Herkimer diamond, Libyan desert glass, Danburite and Black Tektite around my neck… I’ve become very attached to Moldavite and Libyan desert glass as a combination. I never take my Moldavite off and I sleep wearing Moldavite and Libyan desert glass because of the feelings of calm and focus.
I also like to wear and carry around Apophyllite, Aquamarine, Carnelian, Citrine, Red, Blue and Brown Tigers eye and Eagles eye and Labradorite depending on what my mood call’s for, I find these stones combine well with some of the high vibers.
I never expected high vibe crystals to help give calm, focus and connection.
Thanks for sharing and giving a perspective on ADHD and crystals.
    Kind Regards
    Nick
