There is no room in your life for energy drainers, and Eudialyte is the perfect stone to aid in giving the (metaphysical) middle finger to the pessimists and emotional vampires who continually threaten to suck out your life force.  Reminding you of all the skills and talents you possess AND reminding you what you can do with them, beautiful Eudialyte is a powerful protection stone that will help you let go of negative emotions and negative people.

The History of Eudialyte

Eudialyte derives its name from the Greek eu dialytos, meaning "easily decomposable".  This rare mineral’s name alludes to its ready solubility in acid.  A stone of the heart, Eudialyte was discovered in the early 1800s in the Julianehaab district of Greenland.

The local inhabitants of the Kola Peninsula in far north-western Russia, the Saami, call Eudialyte “Saami blood”.  The origin of the name refers to an ancient Norse legend, about the battle of Saami with Swedish soldiers. As a result of the battle, the tundra was soaked in the blood of Saami soldiers and according to legend, droplets of this blood became beautiful Eudialyte.

Eudialyte is extremely rare and found in some extremely remote locations, like Mont Sainte-Hilaire in Canada, the Kola Peninsula in Russia and Poços de Caldas in Brazil, as well as Greenland, Norway and Arkansas.

Recognising Eudialyte

Eudialyte is a complicated complex of silicates containing sodium, calcium, cerium, iron, manganese, yttrium, and zirconium and its colour varies from pink to red and red-brown (as well as rarer browns, greens and yellows).

Eudialyte is quite delicate and typically has a hardness of 5 to 5.5 on the Mohs scale.

What is Eudialyte used for?

Modern existence often puts a primary focus on the needs of the physical body (food, shelter, safety), leaving emotional needs by the wayside, but powerful Eudialyte can provide us with the vitality and go-go-go to ensure that we’re not only meeting our survival needs, but also gift us the love energy to recognise and fulfil our heart’s wildest desires.  A powerful guide for facing depression, Eudialyte strongly links the heart and root charkas and is a stone that brings balance to our physical and emotional needs so that we can live a truly harmonious existence with the two in perfect tandem, releasing the negativity caused by fear, guilt, anger and sorrow.

Eudialyte is a lively, uplifting and energising heart stone. Perfect for clearing, opening and stimulating the heart chakra, fortifying Eudialyte allows us to better receive and communicate love.  Commonly occurring with Black Tourmaline, this dynamic duo not only packs the grounding punch of the protective Black Tourmaline, but the two stones work in tandem to stimulate the libido and encourage us to be less inhibited (no vodka required!).

As a physical healer, Eudialyte continues to be strongly linked with the heart, believed to heal any heart related ailments. It is also said to aid in healing any skeletal and bone deformities, such as arthritis, bone cancer, cracking bones, etc, as well as being helpful in treating eye problems and thyroid issues and purifying the blood.
