Sodalite is deep blue with a thoughtful streak. Often traced with white veins, it has the look of a favourite ink pen meeting a very interesting notebook. Its symbolic mood? Curious, articulate and entirely unimpressed by an opinion that hasn’t done its homework.

Think less “I must have the answer” and more “let’s ask a better question”. You can be intuitive and analytical, confident and teachable. Having depth does not require being mysterious about everything.

Scientific Fun Fact
Sodalite is a sodium aluminium silicate containing chlorine, belonging to the feldspathoid family. It crystallises in the cubic system and measures 5.5–6 on the Mohs scale. Its name refers to its sodium content, and the white veining in familiar blue material is often calcite. Mineral data, gemmological description.

There can also be a surprise under UV light: some specimens fluoresce orange or orange-red, although the response varies. Hackmanite, a variety of sodalite, can additionally show reversible colour change called tenebrescence.
