Unakite wears pistachio green and salmon pink with absolutely no intention of choosing a side. Its earthy patchwork makes a fitting symbol for holding different feelings together: excitement and uncertainty, affection and frustration, hope and a very sensible need for a break.
You don’t have to turn every uncomfortable feeling into a positive affirmation. Sometimes the most useful starting point is, “Well, that’s how I feel. What do I need?”
Metaphysical Properties
Modern crystal traditions associate Unakite with compassion, emotional balance and patient personal growth. These are spiritual correspondences, not scientifically established health effects, and associations vary between traditions. Contemporary symbolism.
Its Heart Chakra symbolism offers a focus for meeting yourself with kindness, particularly when your feelings are complicated. The Third Eye association brings reflection and perspective into the picture: noticing a familiar response, questioning an assumption or considering another way forward.
Spiritually, Unakite makes a meaningful companion for meditation and honest journalling. Place it beside your notebook and explore two questions: “What am I feeling?” and “What response would reflect my values?” There’s room between pretending everything is fine and letting one difficult moment write the whole story.

Scientific Fun Fact
Unakite is a rock, not a single mineral. Its characteristic combination is green epidote, pink orthoclase feldspar and quartz. It forms through hydrothermal alteration of granitic rocks: hot fluids drive mineral reactions, developing epidote while feldspar and quartz remain part of the mixture. Its name comes from the Unaka Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. Geological research.
That patchwork is made of different mineral grains, not painted-on spots. Its components generally fall around 6–7 on the Mohs scale, but hardness isn’t the same as toughness: a polished piece can still chip when knocked. Gem properties.

Shape significance
Using crystals for their spiritual and healing properties can be fun and fascinating and is a killer way to connect with the earth’s energy. But, when you really start digging into the magickal world of sparkly stones, it can start getting really overwhelming.
Not only do crystals come in every colour of the rainbow and serve different intended purposes, they are also found in many different shape formations. Newbies to the crystal world may think the way a stone is cut or shaped is purely aesthetic, but there’s a little more to a crystal’s shape than meets the eye. Just as the colours of the stones convey unique meanings, crystal shapes also matter. And while experts say that the structure of a crystal doesn’t change the type of energy it emits, the shape DOES affect the way you receive said energy.
